Algerian Energy Minister Invited to Russian Energy Week Forum in Moscow

ALGIERS (Sputnik) - Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak has invited his Algerian counterpart Noureddine Bouterfa to attend the Russian Energy Week International Forum in Moscow, a representative of the Algerian Energy Ministry told Sputnik.

"This morning, Mr. Novak invited the Algerian minister to the Russian Energy Week and asked if the Algerian minister would participate," the representative said after the ministers' bilateral talks before the meeting of the OPEC-non-OPEC Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) in the Algerian capital.

The official added that it has not been decided yet whether the Algerian minister would be able to participate in the event.

"[The participation] depends on the schedule, we will decide in the coming days," the official added.

The event is set to take place on October 3-6 at Moscow's Central Exhibition Hall Manege.

The Russian Energy Week was first held in 2017 and serves as a platform for demonstrating the prospects of Russia's fuel and energy industry and exploring the potential of international cooperation in the field.
