A Chinese man came to Xi'an hospital complaining of chest pain. Upon examination the doctors were shocked to find a gold medal, three centimeters in diameter, in his esophagus, Shanghaiist reported.
As it turned out the man is a Sanshou champion while his wife is a Taekwondo champion. They got into an argument and his wife smashed his trophy so he took revenge and swallowed her gold medal.
When asked why they didn't work out their differences by actually fighting each other, the husband said that if they fought, the entire house would have been destroyed, the publication reported.
