Earlier, French magazine Le Point reported that Macron spent over 26,000 euros on makeup since his arrival at the Elysee Palace.
The journalists managed to obtain two bills, one for 10,000 euros and the other for 16,000 euros, for makeup expenses. Natacha M., the makeup artist who provided these services, had also been taking care of Macron during his presidential campaign and has secured steady income for herself during the next five years thanks to his election, Sputnik France adds.
Many Twitter users were shocked and amused by how much money the French leader apparently spends on maintaining his good looks, wondering if it was such a good idea.
One of them joked that with so much money being spent on makeup, it feels like Kim Kardashian was elected as the French president instead of Macron.

Another likened Macron’s makeup to "perlimpinpin powder" – a colloquialism for fraudulent "magic" powders and cures that have zero beneficial effect, which could be considered as French analogue of "snake oil."
