WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Kerry in a call with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Tuesday offered US assistance to investigate the recent terrorist attack in Berlin, Department of State spokesman John Kirby said in a press release.
“The secretary [Kerry] offered US assistance to the investigation in whatever capacity would be helpful,” Kirby stated.
Kerry also expressed his deep condolences about lives lost in Monday’s terrorist attack on the Christmas market in Berlin, he noted.
Kerry and Steinmeier also discussed the situation in Syria and ongoing efforts to reach a ceasefire, Kirby added.
