Saudi Arabia Denounces Murder of Russian Ambassador Karlov in Turkey

Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry has condemned the murder of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov, stating that the crime violates the principles of protection of international diplomats.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The country's foreign ministry denounced the act as contrary to international law, the principles of the protection of protection of diplomats and international envoys and humanitarian principles and moral principles, the official Saudi news agency SPA reported on Tuesday.

The ministry statement extended condolences to the family of the deceased diplomat, the Russian government and people.

On Monday, Karlov was killed by a gunman at an art gallery exhibition opening in Ankara. Three other people were also injured in the attack. The Russian Foreign Ministry called the incident an act of terrorism.
