US, UK Sign Aircraft Carrier Cooperation Agreement - Pentagon

US Secretary of Defense and UK Secretary of State for Defense have signed a deal on aircraft carrier cooperation between the two countries.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter and UK Secretary of State for Defense Michael Fallon have signed a deal on aircraft carrier cooperation between the two countries, Pentagon spokesperson Peter Cook announced on Thursday.

"SecDef Carter and SecState Fallon sign agreement on the future of US-UK aircraft carrier cooperation," Cook stated in a Twitter message.

On Thursday, Fallon is hosting in London a top-level meeting of defense ministers from the US-led coalition against the Islamic State.

The Islamic State, also known as Daesh in Arabic, is outlawed in many countries, including Russia.
