WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – US defense giant Lockheed Martin won $60 million in US Air Force contracts to support and modernize ballistic missile reentry systems, the corporation said in a press release.
"The nearly four-year, firm, fixed price contract is valued at $60 million, and work began last month," the release stated on Thursday. "The equipment will be used by Air Force missile maintainers to support testing and maintenance of all Minuteman III ICBM reentry systems."
Lockheed Martin also announced that the Air Force extended a separate existing weapon system integration contract for ICBM reentry vehicle integration and modernization increasing its value by $10.6 million nearly $107 million over five years, the release added.
The contracts are part of the Air Force Global Strike Command's Continuous Force Improvement Program
