US Backs Ukraine’s Efforts Toward Economic Transparency, Fairness

The US government hosted a workshop in Kiev to show support for Ukraine’s efforts to transition to a more transparent, robust economy, US Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker said on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The theme of the event, organized by the Commerce Department’s Commercial Law Development Program, was government ethics, transparency and corporate compliance in Ukraine.

"The US government and the American business community stand ready to be your partners in this effort, as you move towards an equitable, transparent, and flourishing marketplace that is driven by the private sector," Pritzker stated at the workshop.

Pritzker added that the United States is helping Ukraine’s State Fiscal Service with trade-facilitation measures; engaging private companies to help tackle corruption; and improving fairness, transparency and efficiency in government.
