New Chinese Cruise Missiles to Have 'High Level of Artificial Intelligence'
07:00 GMT 19.08.2016 (Updated: 07:03 GMT 19.08.2016) The next generation of Chinese cruise missiles will have a high level of automation and artificial intelligence, director of the General Design Department of the Third Academy of the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp Wang Changqing said Friday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Wang's department is said to have developed a large family of cruise missiles for the Chinese military.

16 August 2016, 21:53 GMT
"Our future cruise missiles will have a very high level of artificial intelligence and automation. They will allow commanders to control them in a real-time manner, or to use a fire-and-forget mode, or even to add more tasks to in-flight missiles," Wang told the China Daily newspaper in an interview.
He added that China was a global leader in the artificial intelligence field.
In March, China announces 7.6 percent defense budget rise, lowest in six years, reaching $146 billion.
