ATHENS/CAIRO (Sputnik) – According to television broadcasts, the woman arrived in a passenger car, which stopped just yards away from the aircraft located on the tarmac.
The hijacker, identified as Ibrahim Samaha, is reportedly a professor at an Alabama, Georgia, university, where he works as a veterinarian.
The hijacker’s ex-wife resides in Cyprus.
The ex-wife, whose identity has not been published, denied on Egypt’s ON-TV her ex-spouse hijacked the aircraft.
She said that her ex-husband had never been to Cyprus and had never been married to a Cypriot.
The woman said that photographs disseminated by mass media of the alleged hijacker is not her ex-husband. She added that Samaha disembarked the aircraft with the rest of the released passengers.
