WikiLeaks Reveals NSA Spied on Japanese Cabinet, Private Companies
TOKYO (Sputnik) — Tokyo will protest US National Security Agency (NSA) spying on the Japanese government and business if the allegations are confirmed, sources in Japan’s government told Kyodo on Friday.

Earlier in the day, the WikiLeaks website uploaded a trove of new NSA secret papers that appear to reveal that the US agency intercepted calls from 35 telephone numbers belonging to Japanese Cabinet officials, banks, as well as Mitsubishi and Mitsui companies.

According to government sources cited by Kyodo, the government will lodge a formal protest with the US government if this information is proved.

The whistleblower site has previously released similar documents showing that NSA spied on German, French and Brazilian governments and businesses.
