US Secret Services did not find any evidence that American banks were among victims of the cybercrime group Carbanak.
Earlier this week, Russia's Kaspersky Lab in cooperation with Interpol and Europol managed to uncover details on how Carbanak managed to pull of their multimillion-dollar cyberheists all around the world. It appears that their master plan included infecting computers of bank employees with spying software to retrieve confidential data needed to proceed further in their crimes.
According to the private industry notification issued by US law enforcement agencies on Monday and obtained by the media, "the FBI and USSS (U.S. Secret Service) have received no reports that Carbanak malware has affected the U.S. financial sector". However, closer investigating into the matter is still in progress.
