Prophet Muhammad's Hair to Be Brought to Moscow on Sunday

Organizers of the event announced that the relic will be displayed to the audience on the stage of a major Moscow concert hall.

MOSCOW, January 22 (Sputnik) – Organizers of the reception that will present a strand of hair, which supposedly comes from the Prophet Muhammad, to visitors January 25th at Moscow's Crocus City Hall have decided to move the relic from the lobby to the stage of the concert hall, according to a press release from the event's organizers.

The event will also be streamed live online at the event's website. The Spiritual Department of Moscow's Muslims also announced that a diplay of the relic is planned in other Moscow mosques in 2015 during important religious events.

Prophet Muhammad’s strand of hair, a holy Muslim relic, will be brought to Moscow from the North Caucasian Republic of Dagestan by either a private jet or in the first class cabin of a passenger plane.

It is believed that the hair was taken from Muhammad's beard, which was shaved off by his favorite barber Salman after the Prophet passed away.

The hair will be delivered in a special capsule where it is being permanently kept. In order to keep it safe it will be put in a container made of transparent glass. It will be possible to view the relic through a special magnifying glass.
