WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – US Army Chief of Staff Mark Milley held talks with Jordanian King Abdullah II a day after a new militant attack took place in Jordan, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a message via Twitter on Wednesday.
"US Army Chief of Staff Mark A. Milley meets with King Abdullah II," the CENTCOM tweeted.
Earlier in the day, King Abdullah chaired a meeting at the Jordanian National Center for Security and Crisis Management.
On Tuesday, local media reported that at least one policeman died in gunfire during a raid in Wesya village in the outskirts of the Karak province. The death toll in the shootout between police and militants later increased to four.
On Sunday, the Daesh terror group, which is outlawed in Russia, claimed responsibility for an attack on the Crusader-era Karak Castle tourist site, which resulted in eth killing of ten people.
