GENEVA (Sputnik) – Officials from Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia will join US and Russian experts for a meeting on separating terrorists from moderate opposition fighters in Syria, diplomatic sources in the UN special envoy's office told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.
The five countries will not be joined by Special Envoy Staffan de Mistura, the source said. Riyadh's mission in Geneva confirmed their officials' participation at the meeting.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said a group of Russian military experts have arrived in Geneva on Tuesday ahead of the October 19 work.
Another diplomatic source told the agency that the attendance list has not yet been finalized.
