New York Forum Aims to Bridge US-Russian Business Partnerships

The current changes and challenges for business in the Russian market will be one of the issues of an annual forum in New York.

NEW YORK (Sputnik) — Further development of the Russian business market will be the topic of discussion of the US Russian Business Council (USRBC) annual meeting in New York, pharmaceutical company AbbVie Russia General Manager Anthony Wong told Sputnik on Monday.

"USRBC meetings are a good platform to discuss current changes and challenges for business in the Russian market and its further development, and we are happy to be a part of this dialog," Wong said.

Wong is one of more than a dozen speakers to participate in the annual event that runs from October 26 to October 27.

Business leaders from various industries as well as government officials from both Russia and the United States gather at the annual meeting. US Deputy Secretary of Commerce Bruce Andrews and Russia’s International Affairs Committee Chairman Konstantin Kosachev are among this year’s participants.

Apart from further development of the Russian business market, the event will also focus on potential outcomes of undoing sanctions, efforts to reduce obstacles to business as well as opportunities in healthcare.
