MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Islamic State (ISIL) militant group operates a camp in the Mexican state of Chihuahua, just 8 miles from the United States border, Judicial Watch states.

According to the conservative watchdog, ISIL cells located outside the Mexican city of Juarez are controlled by local cartels that smuggle terrorists into the United States.

The organization’s sources claim the Mexican Army and law enforcement agencies found papers in Arabic and Urdu as well as plans of Fort Bliss, a US Army post in neighboring Texas.

The ISIL is reported to be conducting reconnaissance operations at local US and Mexican public and military facilities.

Thousands of people from Western countries, including about 150 US citizens fighting alongside ISIL militants in Syria and Iraq, are largely influenced by the group’s extensive propaganda, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The ISIL issued a new video on Monday threatening another attack on the United States.
