Russia's Cutting-Edge MiG-35 Fighter Jet Shows Its Skills at 2017 MAKS

The 4++ generation multipurpose fighter jet was showcased on July 18 at the 13th MAKS 2017 International Aviation and Space Salon on the Gromov Flight Research Institute airfield in Zhukovsky, Moscow region.

The MiG-35 is capable of reaching speeds of up to 2,700 kilometers per hour and having a combat radius of 1,000 kilometers. It can stay in the air 1.5 times longer than all of its predecessors. The new jet will replace the MiG-29, which is in service in Russia and other countries. The Russian Defense Ministry will begin purchasing MiG-35 fighters from 2018 as part of the new state armament program.
