But before the warmer air arrives, there’s a beautiful weather phenomenon common this time of the year in certain parts of the world: the aurora borealis, also known as the northern lights or polar lights.
It’s a natural light display caused by charged particles in the atmosphere, resulting in a spectacle of glowing green – other colors sometimes show up — in the evening sky.
