    The Democratic National Convention started on 17 August to formally choose the party's nominees for president and vice president in the upcoming November presidential election.

    The 2020 Democratic National Convention is taking place between 17-20 August in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The convention is being held mostly in digital format due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

    On Tuesday night, former US Vice President Joe Biden officially won the Democratic Party's presidential nomination, securing 3,558 delegates after the roll call vote. Previously, Biden selected Senator Kamala Harris as his vice-presidential running mate.
