"[I was] very upset and hurt; it made me cry even worse," Myeshia Johnson told "Good Morning America" about her conversation with the president, adding she has "nothing to say" to him.
"I didn’t say anything. I just listened," she added.
Last week, she received a phone call with condolences from Trump who allegedly said that her husband "knew what he signed up for … but when it happens, it hurts anyway," according to Democratic Representative Frederica Wilson, who said she heard the remarks by the president.
Johnson also said that during the conversation Trump could not remember her husband’s name.
"I was very angry at the tone of his voice and how he said it. He couldn't even remember my husband's name. And that's what hurt me the most, because if my husband is out here fighting for our country and he risked his life for our country," she said.
Trump, however, denied the allegations, saying that what he said to the grieving widow was "fabricated."
Her husband was among the four US Special Forces officers killed in an ambush in Niger on October 4. They were the first casualties of the US anti-terrorism operation launched in the African country during the presidency of Barack Obama.
