WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Northrop Grumman must create a fully-synchronized, net-centric information environment complete with integrated information and decision toolsets, applications and capabilities, the release added.

"Northrop Grumman Systems has been awarded a $98,000,000 contract for software engineering, system engineering, testing, integration, installation, and security engineering required to provide reliable, effective, and user-friendly, net-centric capabilities contributing to the overall operations and maintenance of USSTRATCOM command and control capabilities," the release explained Monday.

USSTRATCOM's command and control operation is necessary to maintain deterrence and, if required, dominate in conventional or nuclear conflict, the release added.
