    US Open to Counterterrorism Cooperation With Russia - State Dept.

    The US government is ready to work with Russia on those aspects of counterterrorism that can benefit the American people, a State Department official told Sputnik on Thursday.

    WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Russian officials, including President Vladimir Putin, have repeatedly called for creating a united front against terrorism.

    Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump also called for cooperation with Moscow in the fight against Daesh terrorist group during his election campaign.

    "The United States is open to working on counterterrorism issues with Russia where we can find areas of practical cooperation that will benefit the American people," the official said.
