Trump to CNN: 'You Are Fake News'

On Wednesday at the Trump Tower the soon-to-be President of the United States confirmed what many journalists, citizens, and fact-checkers have long suspected: CNN is fake news.

"I’m not going to give you a question. You are fake news," Trump said while pointing his index finger squarely at CNN senior White House correspondent Jim Acosta.  The CNN reporter admirably tried to get Trump to answer a question but was scolded almost as if a parent were teaching his children manners. "Quiet, quiet, don’t be rude, let the woman ask her question" Trump said, referring to another reporter.

On Tuesday, CNN fueled rumors of #GolddenShowerGate, which was trending on Twitter Wednesday morning. The network that markets itself as centrist relief from hyper-partisan outlets Fox and MSNBC aired an uncorroborated, unverified report alleging that Russians had obtained compromising information on Trump. The details of the dossier, widely disseminated by BuzzFeed, accused Trump of hiring prostitutes at the presidential suite of the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Moscow where paid escorts made it rain with urine, otherwise known as a "golden shower." The report originated from a former UK intelligence operative, according to CNN and BuzzFeed, the first outlets to publicize the reports. Business as usual?

Following the national and global embarrassment, CNN desperately tried to distance itself from BuzzFeed. Since CNN posts are "carefully sourced reporting," the network’s content is "vastly different" from BuzzFeed’s "unsubstantiated" memos, according to a statement. CNN claims their reporting of Russia potentially having compromising financial or personal information against Trump is part of its honorable First Amendment duty of "informing the people of the inner workings of their government."

The Washington Post has spearheaded the "fake news" witch hunt but even Jeff Bezos’ news outlet did not fall for the unsubstantiated rumors, which CNN and BuzzFeed would have viewers think was a factual report. Mainstream beltway-insider publications like Washington Post and Politico berated the reporting this morning. According to the Post, "several news organizations, including The Washington Post, have been attempting to confirm many of the specific allegations without success." What’s more, the combined efforts of more than half-a-dozen journalists at Politico to gather evidence for the allegations "got nowhere."

Great job, Trump. Very well done. And the rudeness of the guy for arguing like a child confirms that CNN is not a professional organization> Trump said no, and that should have been it. The man would be POTUS in about a week and that reporter feels it is appropriate to argue about who gets to ask questions? CNN is disgusting.

In my culture, it is not fake news, it is called Evil News. It is an intention acts (news), to destroy others. Fake news can only be fake if some one told me that Reagan still alive and seen him in person and I reported as is, but turn out to be fack.

CNN rightly deserved to be called fake news.
      You reap what you sow.
Thank you Trump for exposing fake media outlet CNN.

CNN dug it's own grave. IS is certainly their offspring. The whole World knows it. Even the poor European vassal states.

I just read where Jim Acosta incredibly told Trump he was not being appropriate. This is the "reporter" from the "news" agency that published a completely false story about Trump that was designed to play into the other lies that Trump is some sort of sexual pervert. Acosta thinks the "golden shower" story was appropriate, but Trump's taking offense to it wasn't appropriate?

Wow. That CNN reporter was out of control.

One wonders if Megyn Kelly did not see all of this coming and got out before CNN's stock is falling, falling...

jas, Regardless of the circumstances, the guy was only trying to do his job, just like Sam Donaldson, Geraldo Rivera and others have tried to do theirs before him. We have no proof that Jim Acosta was involved with the "golden rain" story, but, as a senior writer, he had to know about it.

Trump should not give CNN any special treatment, and keep them at arm's length. Allow only one CNN reporter at important events, and don't give them any interviews or consideration. Treat them like the hacks they are.

to the honest, there is no end to hang on trifling objection which major medias are churning out or code words one by one.however it appears that recently major medias have come to be vulgar troll.maiking money by flaming method is very low level media's behavior.when "did" they change their job?but regretfully they might say "yes we done".it is really deplorable.

marcanhalt, I don't agree because Acosta kept trying to shout over Trump. I thought Acosta was actualyl confirming what Trump was saying about CNN. Trump told Acosta several times that it wasn't happening and Acosta still tried to shout out his question. And he was trying to ask about that story, too. He was asking Trump is he categorically denied something. I'd go a little further and revoke his press credentials for a few weeks.

CNN sucks as a news outlet. They have always fabricated news for many years. They don't care if the story is true or not ! But as long as it fits their liberal socialist views of the left. They will lie to ruin people's careers or corporations who are against their narrative. That's why they have low ratings. The American public knows they fabricate stories. Anderson Cooper.is one of the stooges that lie for them.

marcanhalt, regardless of the circumstances, it's nothing personal. Acosta represents an evil organization, and Trump had every right to treat him that way.

Igor R, Organizations are not evil, as "organizations" cannot exercise a God-breathed conscience, only people can. Only people can choose evil versus good. Corporations are a fictional "person". Acosta is a person who works for a corporations that expressed the values of that corporation. Trump did not insult the man, he insulted the corporation he works for.

marcanhalt, It's also a personal choice who you want to work for. You can't just say I am following orders. If you support an evil corporation you also bear responsibility. A lot of evil in the world is done by people who are just "making a living" and following orders. Even in the army there are conscientious objectors. People need to start taking responsibility.
