WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Rex Tillerson, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for the position US Secretary of State, should focus on protecting the foreign policy interests of the United States if he is confirmed, US Senator Marco Rubio said in a press release on Tuesday.

"The next secretary of state must be someone who… is free of potential conflict of interest, has a clear sense of America's interests," Rubio stated. "[Someone] who will be a forceful advocate for America's foreign policy goals to the president."
