    Dow Chemical Chairman Andrew Liveris has been appointed head of the American Manufacturing Council (AMC) and charged with developing policies to revive industry and manufacturing in the United States, President–elect Donald Trump told a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

    WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Liveris, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Dow Chemical Company, is known for championing of the importance of manufacturing in the world economy.

    “[Liveris and the AMC] will be tasked with ways to bring industry and manufacturing back to America,” Trump said on Friday.

    The Dow Chemical Company is a material, polymers, chemicals and biological sciences corporation with 2015 annual sales of nearly $49 billion.
