MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to USA Today newspaper, Trump spent a total of $66 million of his own money on the campaign.
Trump has repeatedly said that his personal contribution to the campaign would amount to $100 million.
In total, Trump campaign raised nearly $340 million, while his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton raised about $580 million, media reported citing the latest Federal Election Commission disclosure reports.
On November 8, Trump won the US presidential election by gaining a major electoral lead over Clinton. The inauguration of the US president-elect will take place on January 20.
