Press Secretary for the Russian Embassy said that a teenager who reportedly was charged with killing his adoptive parents in Texas holds Russian citizenship, and is registered with the consulate.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) A teenager who reportedly was charged with killing his adoptive parents in Texas holds Russian citizenship, and is registered with the consulate, Press Secretary for the Russian Embassy Nikolai Lakhonin told Sputnik on Friday.

“The teenager has been registered with the consulate since 2005, he is a Russian citizen,” Lakhonin said.

On Thursday, US media reported that 17-year-old Carl Brewer, who was allegedly adopted from Russia, killed his adoptive parents Troy Gene Brewer, 60, and Mary Sheldon Brewer, 64, in Crowley, Texas.
