MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Trump has gained access to the President's Daily Brief (PDB), which provides intelligence data of a highly sensitive nature, the Fox News Channel reported, citing intelligence sources.

According to reports, briefings must take place in a secure facility. Since Trump is currently in New York and not in Washington, to receive a briefing he will have to go to a secure federal facility, such as the FBI office. According to the sources, the briefings will begin next week at the earliest.

Prior to Tuesday's presidential election, the White House ordered the security services to provide the winner with full access to the materials, to guarantee a smooth transition.

Trump won the US presidential election on Tuesday with 290 electoral votes against his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton's 232.

The presidential inauguration will be held on January 20, 2017.
