    WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The American people should be aware that their votes count in charting the future, but they should not reduce themselves to placing a check on a ballot, National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower Edward Snowden said in a Twitter message on Tuesday.

    US citizens are voting today to elect the 45th president of the United States.
