WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 371 points, or 2.1 percent, on Monday while the Composite Index was up 2.4 percent to 119 points. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index gained 46 points, or 2.2 percent.
Stocks opened higher on Monday after FBI Director James Comey affirming the bureau’s July decision not to recommend criminal charges against Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in a re-opened probe of her email practices as US secretary of state.
The rally followed nine days of losses after Comey announced the FBI had obtained new emails related to the Clinton investigation.
