Apparent Ambush Attack Leaves 2 US Police Officers Shot Dead in Iowa

Unidentified attackers supposedly ambushed two police officers in the Des Moines suburb of Urbandale, Iowa and shot them dead, local media reported Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – One of the police officers had responded to a report of shooting around 1 a.m. local time [06:00 GMT], and arrived at the scene where he was shot dead while sitting in a patrol car, the ABC broadcaster reported. The second officer reportedly shared the same fate some time later.

Police are looking for assailants, with only the description of their vehicle at hand.
