WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The roads have reopened after a suspicious package probe at 9th and Pennsylvania Avenue, WUSA TV reported.

The DC Police Department had earlier confirmed a street closure in the area due to police activity but did not reveal the nature of the activity.

The closure was one of many by US police on Monday following a series of explosions in the states of New Jersey and New York on Saturday, and the discovery of additional improvised explosive devices on Sunday night.
