US Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has a 10-point lead over her Republican rival Donald Trump among registered US voters, a poll revealed on Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Clinton and Trump were both nominated in July to head their respective parties' ticket in the November 8 US presidential election.

According to the NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll, 51 percent of registered voters support Clinton, while Trump is backed by 41 percent.

Clinton is typically more popular among women, and this popularity has grown in the last two weeks, the poll's results indicate. As for Trump, he has an advantage among white men, according the poll.

Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson polled at 10 percent, while Green Party candidate Jill Stein was on four percent.

On Monday, a Monmouth University poll revealed that there was a 12-point gap between Clinton and Trump, in favor of the former.
