    Orlando Gay Nightclub Massacre (77)

US Democratic nomination contender Bernie Sanders said Sunday that the nation was reeling from the "horrific atrocity" which was the overnight shooting at the Orlando gay club.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Orlando massacre has claimed the lives of 50 people and wounded another 53, becoming the deadliest mass shooting in the US history. It has surpassed the death toll from the 2007 incident at Virginia Tech, which claimed 32 lives.

He said it was not clear whether the massacre was an act of terrorism, a hate crime against gay people or an act of a sick person, "but we extend our heartfelt condolences to the victims' families and loved ones and our thoughts are with the injured and the entire Orlando LGBTQ community," he wrote.
