MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier in the week, Clinton succeeded in securing the necessary number of delegates, including both pledged ones and superdelegates, to win her party's presidential nomination.
"He can run a campaign of insults. I'm running a campaign of issues that are going to produce results for the American people," Clinton said in a Wednesday interview with NBC, adding that Trump is "temperamentally unfit" to be president.
Trump reached the number of Republican delegates needed to secure the party’s nomination on May 26.
In the course of his campaign, the Republican frontrunner has been widely criticized for his controversial statements, including with regard to immigrants, Mexicans, Muslims, and women.
The US presidential election is scheduled to take place on November 8, 2016.
