US Senator Bernie Sanders has been dominating chatter among Iowans on Facebook about US presidential candidates just a few hours prior to the caucuses, according to data released by the social media platform.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – About 42 percent of the conversations focused on Sanders, Facebook said on Monday. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump enjoys the second place with almost 22 percent.

Sanders, Trump Lead Among First-Time Iowa Caucus Voters

The caucuses will begin on Monday at 7 p.m. Central Time (01:00 GMT Tuesday), and the results might be known sometimes between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Sanders and his rival Trump have taken the lead among the parties’ first-time voters in Iowa on the first day of the 2016 caucus, which begins the two presidential candidates’ nomination process, according to a Quinnipiac University poll.
