MOSCOW (Sputnik) — At least two police officers were wounded and two suspects were shot dead in a shooting in the north of the US state of California, local media reported, citing the state’s authorities.

The gunfight took place in a parking lot of a Target store on Monday, according to the Santa Cruz Sentinel newspaper.
The policemen were simply trying to serve a warrant to the individuals sitting in their car near the store, when the execution of their duties caused a brawl, Monterey District Attorney Dean Flippo told the daily.
The US officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries in an exchange of fire, were taken to a local hospital and are expected to get well soon, according to the newspaper.
