Bush senior served as the 41st president of the United States between 1989 and 1993. He is the father of former US president George W. Bush and of former Florida governor Jeb Bush, who has joined the Republican pool in the 2016 US presidential race.
George H.W. Bush suffers from Parkinson’s disease and cannon walk on his own, instead relying on a wheelchair and a stroller.
Born on June 12, 1924, he is the oldest US leader currently alive.
The longest-lived American president was Gerald Ford, who died at the age of 93 years and 165 days in 2006. Ronald Reagan was the second longest-lived, 45 days short of Ford. Reagan died in 2004.
