Protesters March in DC for More Protection for Transgendered

Protesters in Washington are holding a vigil for Leelah Alcorn while demanding more legal protections for the transgendered and transexual. Alcorn committed suicide in late December after writing in her diary that her parents didn’t accept her decision to identify as a female.

Alcorn wrote "My death needs to be counted in the number of transgender people who commit suicide this year. I want someone to look at that number and say “that’s f**cked up” and fix it. Fix society. Please."
