Khabib Nurmagomedov Hints at Possible Date of His Fight With Tony Ferguson

The epic showdown between the Russian and American MMA fighters was set for 18 April, but the bout was cancelled amid the coronavirus outbreak. Following the announcement, Ferguson said that Khabib should be deprived of his champion's belt.

Lightweight UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov noted that he is preparing for September, without mentioning, however, which event he has in mind.

"September is not so far away. Although it's hard to believe that everything will end by September, a wise man said that in peacetime it's necessary to prepare for war", Nurmagomedov wrote on his Instagram account.

The fighter, who is currently self-isolating at his home in Dagestan, southern Russia, was referring to a fight against Tony Ferguson that was scrapped because of the coronavirus pandemic. However, there is no official information about the match so far.
