RIO DE JANEIRO (Sputnik) – Efimova, a four-time world champion, first became a silver Olympic medalist this year. She previously won bronze during the London Olympics in 2012.

"Thank you for your support, without you these medals would not be possible. I promise that next time it will be gold," Efimova told reporters.

The swimmer denied having an intention to take a break in her career after the Rio Olympics.

"No, I don’t wish to do that," Efimova responded, when asked about a potential pause.
