The bout, initially scheduled for March 10, was postponed as Briggs pulled out citing health reasons, and was later rescheduled for June 2 in Moscow. But the capital of Russia could also host on the same day a heavyweight bout between Ukraine's Vitali Klitschko, who plans to make a return after hanging up his boxing gloves two years ago, and Russia's WBC Defending Champion Oleg Maskayev.
A statement from Golden Grain Promotions, the co-promoter of the WBO mandatory challenger Ibragimov, published on BoxingScene.com Web site, said that, "Regarding all the boxing achievements of the current WBC Champion Oleg Maskayev and taking under consideration that it's hardly possible to stage two great boxing events on the same day in Moscow, we decided to take Ibragimov-Briggs fight to the USA."
