New Zealanders seem to be aware of nearly every move of the country's 'first cat', Paddles Ardern-Gayford. Last Saturday she introduced herself on Twitter with a cute debut photo of her "opposable thumbs."

In just one week, the adorable furry domestic animal has posted over 700 tweets which have attracted almost 10,000 readers.
Paddles happily chats away with her followers and even responds to the accounts of other cats.

Interestingly enough, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Paddle’s owner, says she has no idea who has created the account in the name of her pet.

While ruling out that it could be her partner Clarke Gayford, the New Zealand leader admitted that they both enjoy the idea.
Gosh, a cat in PEOPLE magazine? What’ll they think of next?! Btw I introduced myself 😽😽😽 @people https://t.co/SelxAac8OH

"I am quite happy for that person to continue posting on behalf of Paddles, keeping in mind Paddles has thumbs," she commented to the country's news outlet Newshub.
Sorry I have a very strict schedule of napping. 💤 https://t.co/PdC2rxHjUZ

"I can’t put it past her, it’s her own account as well," the country's leader concluded.
