Earlier in the day, the Dutch Foreign Ministry altered its travel advice for Egypt. The Dutch authorities have requested its citizens to avoid using Sharm El-Sheikh airport until further notice. The Netherlands also suspended all flights by Dutch airlines to and from Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The travel advice issued by the Netherlands to avoid using Sharm El-Sheikh airport is not a premature assumption of results of the investigation into the crash of the Russian A321 passenger plane in Egypt, the press attache of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Moscow told Sputnik on Thursday.

"The Dutch government thinks it is very important that Russia and Egypt fully investigate possible causes of the crash. The Dutch travel advice in no way prejudges the outcome of that investigation," Nadia Verwaal said.

She added that at the moment there were 408 Dutch citizens who had registered their presence in Egypt with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs while the real number of Dutch tourists in Egypt could be higher since many citizens do not register their presence.

"Travel agents will make arrangements for the return flight for Dutch citizens to the Netherlands that are currently in the Sharm-el-Sheikh area and wish to return," the press attache pointed out.

France Halts Direct Flights to and From Sharm el-Sheikh Due to A321 Crash
On Saturday, a Russia-operated Airbus A321, en route from Sharm El-Sheikh to St. Petersburg, crashed in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. All 224 people on board were killed in what has become the largest civil aviation disaster in Russian and Soviet history. A variety of leads have been set out by the experts following the accident, ranging from a terrorist act to a technical glitch.

Several major international airlines, specifically, Air France, Flydubai, Lufthansa, Air Arabia and Emirates, announced decisions to suspend their flights over the Sinai Peninsula after the crash. On Wednesday, the UK government announced the suspension of all flights to and from the Egyptian city until additional security measures had been adopted.
