An Australian family from Queensland has been affected by both Malaysia Airlines tragedies this year, the Sydney Morning Herald reported Friday.

MOSCOW, July 18 (RIA Novosti) – An Australian family from Queensland has been affected by both Malaysia Airlines tragedies this year, the Sydney Morning Herald reported Friday.

According to the newspaper report, Kaylene Mann lost her brother and sister-in-law when Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 mysteriously disappeared in March this year.

Kaylene Mann’s step-daughter and her husband Albert were on board flight MH17, which crashed in the Donetsk Region in Ukraine on Thursday.

A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed near the town of Torez. There were 283 passengers and 15 crew members on board. Nobody survived.

Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency suspended flights transiting over Ukraine and said that flights will only resume after their safety is guaranteed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his condolences to the Malaysian and Dutch prime ministers, and called for an objective, transparent investigation of the plane crash.
