Russian state arms exporter Rosoboronexport on Tuesday said it signed an agreement with Concern Avtomatika on exports of Russian cybersecurity systems in 2017-2019.

KUBINKA (Moscow Region) (Sputnik) – The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Army-2017 International Military-Technical Forum.

"According to the document, the special exporter will export systems and means of information security in 2017-2019. The strategy of the Rostec state corporation [which includes Rosoboronexport] until 2025 envisages annual revenue growth from entering ‘smart’ product markets, including electronics and security systems," Rosoboronexport said in a statement.

According to Rosoboronexport’s Director General Alexander Mikheev, the demand for cybersecurity projects was increasing.

"We see demand for various projects linked to ensuring cybersecurity. Rosoboronexport offers its foreign customers projects on monitoring social networks, counteracting viruses, encryption and other IT aspects. That is a new area in defense industry cooperation and we are actively developing it. Now we are working on about 10 projects related to this," Mikheev said.

Rosoboronexport launched a special project called Security Systems Produced in Russia with a special cluster of Russian manufacturers having been created to implement the project. The systems ensure security of Russian state bodies as well as critical military and civil infrastructure.

The Army-2017 forum kicked off earlier on Tuesday in the Alabino Military Training Grounds, the Kubinka Airfield and the Patriot Congress and Exhibition Center in the Moscow region.
