Russian and Finnish communications ministers on Wednesday discussed opportunities for joint telecom projects in the Arctic, including building 5G mobile networks, the Russian Communications and Mass Media Ministry said.

Finland Maintaining 'Pragmatic' Approach to Relations With Russia
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The meeting between Russia’s Deputy Telecom and Mass Communications Minister Rashid Ismailov and Finnish Transport and Communications Minister Anne Berner was held on the margins of the Mobile World Congress (MWC), underway in Barcelona on February 22-25.

MWC is an annual event that brings together the world’s mobile business leaders and telecom officials to discuss mobile industry networking and innovative mobile solutions from around the world.

"They touched upon cooperation between Russia and Finland on metadata, frequency coordination and supervision in the border areas, and outlooks for 5th-generation [mobile] networks, as well as joint telecommunication projects in the Arctic zone," the statement read.
