The head of the Russian state called for upholding the trend of reducing the country's dependence on oil prices.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian economy is gradually overcoming the period of decline, but the positive tendencies remain unstable, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday.

"The macroeconomic situation remains difficult, the Russian economy is gradually overcoming the decline… In the medium term-perspective, it is necessary to reach the four-percent levels of inflation," Putin said in a government meeting on budget.

According to the president, the trend of reducing Russia’s budget’s dependence on oil prices must be continued.
