    When away from performing her official chores as Russia’s top diplomatic spokesperson, Maria Zaskharova has proved beyond any reasonable doubt that she is equally savvy when it comes to baking pancakes.

    Maslenitsa, or Pancake week, is traditionally celebrated in Russia on the last week before the onset of Great Lent.

    It wraps up with what is called a Forgiveness Sunday.
